In mid-2016, customer turned to Loovatech team to update public section of an educational portal. By then, portal had already been launched by another contractor. An update was planned for release in early 2017. Initially, the project was built on a legcy educational platform. A third-party integrator was involved in the development from 2015 to the end of 2016. At launch, educational portal had 50 training courses available to end users.
Our client develops and distributes electronic educational content for innovative economy sector as a part of the development of a continuous education system.
The company is responsible for training and retraining engineering and management personnel for high-tech companies and enterprises in EMEA region.
Together with the customer, it was decided to retain work done by the previous contractor.
In the second half of 2016, Loovatech team began analysing the project and drafting its specifications. Before starting new development, a full analysis of the project's technical part was carried out.
Loovatech experts considered customer's priorities on keeping existing educational platform in place. As a result, portal implementation was proposed in the form of two integrated systems: e-Learning platform maintained by the customer, and redesigned public website, tailored to requirements of marketing department.
A new interface with CMS integration was developed with a well-thought-out user path accounting for better customer experience.
Previous functionality of the portal was preserved and expanded upon. Opportunities for managing content and SEO were expanded.
1500+ legacy site pages were migrated to the new platform.
Loovatech developers also expanded new IT architecture with advanced tools for system administrators and content managers.
Project was successfully released in October 2017. System architecture was updated. Loovatech turned the portal into a hybrid of two integrated systems.
Despite increased IT architecture complexity, educational portal became simple, modern, and fast. To end users, updated service provided a seamless experience without having to authenticate several times or switch between different sections.
Marketing team received a rich toolkit for content management. The system was expanded with new functionality and options to use modern marketing tools.
After implementation of this project, marketing department easily meets KPIs for customer attraction and retention.
